Highlights Of our Work In Democracy, Governace and Elections

  • Coordinated VNF activities in the five (5) southeast states.
  • Led the Not-Too-Young-too-Run campaign in Anambra state which brought a lot of young people into governance.
  • Developed Anambra state youth Agenda and presented it to leading party candidates before the November 6, 2021 gubernatorial elections.
  • Conducted VNF live hour radio program on Ogene 98.3 FM where electorate were educated on the need for violent free election
  • Aired Public Service Announcements (PSA) on channels TV, aired VNF jingles on Ogene 98.3FM and Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS)
  • Hoisted fifteen (15) VNF billboards in violent hotspots and distributed over eight thousand (8,000) IEC materials
  • Conducted social media outreaches which reached over three hundred and eight thousand people within one month
  • Conducted youth consultative meeting with Anambra youth leaders and VNF ambassador Innocent Idibia (AKA 2Baba) as well as senatorial town hall meetings in all the three (3) senatorial zone in Anambra state
  • One-on-one meetings with Governor Willie Obiano and leading party gubernatorial candidates
  • supported INEC during the Election stakeholders meeting held in Awka and also participated in INEC meetings and sensitization programs on voter education in 2021
  • Supported the Kukah Centre during the signing of the peace accord ahead of the 2021 Anambra state governorship election
  • Organized the signing of peace pledges and youth-led initiative for peace which was signed by leading party governorship candidates and youth leaders
  • Conducted advocacy visits and stakeholder engagement meetings (with youth leaders, INEC, security agencies, National Orientation Agency, Media houses, traditional and religious leaders, political parties, etc) to seek commitments to peaceful participation in elections
  • Participated in After Action review meeting with the National democratic Institute (NDI) and Anambra governance & democracy stakeholders to look at the challenges, achievements and success stories of the VNF campaign in 2021.
